Herbs and plants have always been important to animals. Horses have instinctively gravitated to them for their main source of daily dietary needs. Through the years of living off the land, our environment’s resources have become depleted and can no longer nourish animals the way they have in the past. In their domestication, animals are also no longer able to run free and obtain their dietary needs by instinctually seeking out plants while roaming the land. It has now become our responsibility to supply our animals with the nutrients and herbs that have been striped from our environment and out of their lives.

Stacey Small, the creator of Equilite, Inc., has been a horse person all of her life. She was encouraged to study herbs in the late 1980’s by veterinarians she worked with at the racetrack. This later led her to create Equilite, Inc.
